Heyo errbody!
Let me just start by saying thanks for all the letters.
Wait, jokes on me, you didn't send me anything Mom and Dad. Haha it's
fine I know we're all very, very busy! I know that I am.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT HERE!! My companion is amazing. Her name is Sister
Harris and she's from Utah. She is freaking hilarious and we always have
such a great time together! We are always laughing and joking around
but can also be serious together when we are studying and preparing to
teach some lessons. Actually, our whole district (a group of 6
companionships) is all fabulous! There is Sister Nunez and Sister
Mortensen, Sister Collier and Sister Bowers, Elder Call and Elder
Mickelsen, Elder Whipple and Elder Farb, and Elder Larson and Elder
Whitlock. They are all great and we get along so well. It's crazy how
much people give up to be here. Elder Call skipped his high school
graduation to come to the MTC! Could you even imagine?? Hard pass. But
he is totally loving it and it is so cool to meet and learn about so
many new people. We've all become so close and I am so thankful for such
wonderful new friends. And the majority of my district is all going to
Calgary too so that's super cool knowing that I'll probably see them
again too (fingers crossed!).
So the food is decent...I think we all know how picky of an eater I am
so some meals can get pretty difficult. But Elder Call got a package
today and it had Nutella in it and he let me have some and I was so
happy! Ha dang, I missed that stuff and it's only been like what four
days or something? Who's keeping count anyway. The days are so long but
go by so fast. Does that even make any sense? We wake up before six most
days so we can make it to the Sisters work out at six in the gym. We
did some yoga and some kick boxing class which was pretty coolio, I
admit I only went because I wanted to here some music. Lol. We can't
even play gospel music from speakers in the MTC or dance, so I'm having a
bit of trouble with that but I'll throw in a little happy dance when I
eat something delicious or have personal revelation and we sing hymns at
the beginning and end of class each day so that's way nice! Class is
great. I am learning so much here about not only myself but how I can
teach what I know to be true to others. We do a lot of praying, which is
so helpful. I know I wouldn't be able to do this without the help of my
Father in Heaven. I can't even count the number of times he has helped
me just in the last 24 hours!! It's amazing the spirit that we feel here
at the MTC. Right when Kenzie, Kim, and Mal dropped me off it just hits
you so strong getting out of the car. Tears have came many times but
never sad tears, just happy tears yay! We just have so many things to do
here, I mean it's only just past eleven o'clock and we have already
done so much! We're reading so much from the Book of Mormon and from
Preach My Gospel and you'd think with the amount of reading I did
growing up I would totally hate it but I actually LOVE it. And the
studying. It's overwhelming but with all the information and inspiration
I get from it it's totally worth it! And I have the help of my
companion, and my district, and my teachers. The teachers here are
amazing. They have so much wisdom to share with us about serving a
mission and teaching people about the gospel. They even get into
character and pose as investigators for us to teach them. Sister Harris
and I get to teach the investigator Charly and Amy. Our first lesson
with Charly....could've been better haha but we learned from our
mistakes and applauded what we did right and when we got to Amy's lesson
later in the evening we saw such a difference in our teaching and the
interest shown by the investigator. It is so cool to see the spirit
doing it's thing and working on us as missionaries and also our
investigators. I seriously love the feeling I get whenever I talk about
Christ and our Heavenly Father. AHHHh I could talk about it forever. But
I won't because we only have so much time here.
Well I'd love to hear from you, all of you!!!! Mom and Dad: how's work?
how's the fam? Anna and Logan: how's Lynx? and my new baby niece or
nephew? and Fletcher: how's summer going dude? TELL ME EVERYTHING. oh
and send my pictures! sorry I can't send you any this week...I can't
find that little do-dad that connects my pictures to the
computer..probably shoulda packed my own suitcase-THANK YOU SARAH! (you're welcome)
Well, I love you all and I am so so so so thankful for everything that
you have done for me growing up. I couldn't have asked for anything
else. I love you so much and pretend I'm giving you a big hug right now!
xoxo Love,
Sister Davis
