Family Day

So here in Alberta we celebrate Family Day instead of President's Day and that means the library is closed which is why we are all here today to email!

Anyhow, it's been a great week here finishing off the transfer strong. We totally smashed the goals we set for the last six weeks and so when we had our new zone goal setting meeting we made some pretty hefty goals for this transfer! It was an amazing meeting and the Spirit was incredibly strong that we couldn't deny the goals that Heavenly Father wanted us to set. We have high hopes in this transfer and the many miracles we'll be privileged to see! Our new zone is awesome, we lost a few of my favorites but that's okay because they were needed somewhere else and now we have some new faces to get to know and to work together with. It's going to be great! Lots of hard workers full of hope and faith which means we are going to see things happen!! Eeks I love it!

We're already seeing great things. We had Amy, Jolayne, and the Derricott's come to church this Sunday and it was a big step for each of them! They've all been less-active for years and we've been putting lots of energy and love into each of them and it's nice to know that it's working! Sadly, Chris and Heather (the Oler's neighbors) didn't make it out to church because she was at the hospital having a false alarm for the twins to come! Haha but we stopped by after church and they were excited to see us and they've been do all their reading in the Book of Mormon so they are moving along! They are the sweetest people ever.
Sister Maynes and I are getting along great, it was a good week.  She is progressing lots and I love to see her happy! Everyone can tell when she's having a good time, she has this laugh that just kills me every time. I love it.

So we thought that Valentine's day dinner with the Harker's would be the most awkward time ever but it was so nice! They were so cutesy and even got us roses! haha so cute, hey? The last time I got flowers was probably my sixteenth birthday so it was quite the touching moment when he brought those out for us hahaha Some other members did things for us too, oh the joys of being a sister missionary! DL Elder Hayter was telling us how much it sucked as an elder bahaha so sad.. My favorite part though was when Sister Maynes and I went heart attacking! Gets your blood pumping and it makes people so happy when they see loads of hearts and inspiring words of love all over their front doors. I love seeing other people smile! My fave.
So yes. What a glorious week!

xoxox I hope you have the most wonderfullest week ever and that you will take the time to open your eyes to see the millions of miracles the Lord shows to us every day.

LOVE, SISTER DAVIS

Accidental Miracle!

The best thing ever happened this week. I'll start from the beginning..So the a few weeks back we had dinner with the Oler's, an older couple who are just wonderful, and we inviting them to make their own family mission plan. They decided as part of that they were going to reach out to the less-active members that lived in their neighborhood so we're thinking heck yes that's a great idea! So they came up with the idea of inviting one of those families to their house to join them and us for dessert and a message. Cool, yes? Gets better. So they walk down there and knock on the door, talk to the wife (nonmember) who excitedly accepts the invitation. Sister Oler calls us to tell us what happened and then proceeded to tell us that once they got home and looked at the ward directory again they realized that they knocked on door 28 and the less actives lived at door 24!!!! BAHAHAHA they totally invited strangers over and they said yes!!!!!!!!! We were just laughing our heads off when she told us and we couldn't believe it! So Friday night we had dessert with the Oler's and their neighbors Heather and Chris and it was awesome! They want to meet with us again this week. I can't wait. After we told this to our DL he's like "Member tracting- IT WORKS!" hahahah so cool, hey? I love it.

That was the highlight of the week.

And more good news: Sister Maynes and I are both staying here in Legacy for at least another six weeks whoop whoop! We are going to do work! And see miracles. Things are really picking up. At least that's what I keep praying for :) I LOVE MY LIFE!!!

Happy Valentine's Day! I love it. The one day of the year I can wear all pink and red and sparkles and no one can say anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY. My fave.

Me and Sister Cooley, we've become really great friends

P.freaking.S. Guess what?! Merle, an eternal investigator and my best friend in my last ward, just got baptized on Saturday!!!!!!!!! YAAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! That made me soo soo happy! "one of the most contributing details in my decision is your beautiful and consistent loving attitude and consistent non-threatening yet supportive presence." hahahah I died when I heard that...Is there a such thing as being too lovingly bold? Because that would be me

Can, Can, Can!

What a week! It was a long one for me. It started off amazing and then dulled to good midweek and then went back up to great yesterday. What a roller coaster, hey? I know. We had great lesson with Taylor on Tuesday and then set up another for Saturday but she didn't show up :( but we made good use of the time and visited lots of less active members instead. Most people are afraid of change, but I have really grown to love it! Especially when it means changing and becoming more like our Savior. What a glorious thing! An article in the Ensign said something that caught my attention as Sister Maynes and I were reading it together yesterday during study. It said "The bedrock of character is integrity. Worthy character will strengthen your capacity to recognize the direction of the Spirit and be obedient to it. Strong character is more important than what you own, what you have learned, or what goals you have accomplished. Your consistent exercise of faith builds strong character. In turn, fortified character expands your ability to exercise faith, thereby enhancing your capacity and confidence in conquering the trials of life." I really love that statement. Learn it, live it, love it.

I pray for each of you that you may have joy!

pictures: It was Sister Maynes' birthday yesterday so we made sure to have a little celebration for her! Since it was the Sabbath we couldn't buy any cake mix so I tried to be resourceful and use the things we already had which means I made a cup cake out of rice crispy treats, snack-pack pudding, and shredding coconut on top lol she said it tasted good.....yikes
